Eurythmics - Live
Live 1983-1989 album by Eurythmics was released Nov 30, 1993 on the Arista label. EURYTHMICS LIVE contains no overdubs and features several acoustic performances. Live 1983-1989 CD music is a 2-disc set with 22 songs.
Like 1991's GREATEST HITS (and seemingly the duo themselves), Eurythmics' LIVE 1981-1989 pretends their debut, 1981's IN THE GARDEN, doesn't exist, and picks up their story with the worldwide commercial breakthrough of 1983's "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)." This two-disc, 22-track, 107-minute set charts Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart's career from that high point on, and contradicts the common misperception of Eurythmics as a technopop band.
Though the duo were never afraid of including keyboards in their sound, these live tracks are augmented by Dave Stewart's searing slide guitar, real drums, often courtesy of Blondie's Clem Burke, and regular appearances by live strings and horns Live 1983-1989 album. The soulful intensity of Annie Lennox's voice comes through more clearly onstage than on the sometimes over-polished records, and the songs sound fresh, exciting, and vital even today Live 1983-1989 CD music.
