http://www.theloudspeaker.co.uk/eikona/The Jordan Eikona is a compact drive unit capable of operating from below 40Hz to above 20,000Hz. In the appropriate enclosure, it can cover almost the full range of music.
The Eikona has a 100mm Contraflex alloy cone, unique to E. J. Jordan Designs. This robust, responsive cone is the result of Ted Jordan's 50 years of research into metal cone drive units. It avoids the harshness and breakup at Fwhich can plague other metal cone drive units and is designed to reproduce high frequencies smoothly and accurately.
The Eikona represents the leading edge of loudspeaker technology, outclassing both Ted's previous drive units and the competition. The low frequency resonance and Thiel-Small parameters are carefully chosen to give a well-balanced performance in a range of enclosure types, from sealed box and reflex to transmission line and horns. A monster cabinet is not required to get the best from the Eikona!
The Eikona is entirely made in the UK (another rare achievement) and is produced in small, carefully-monitored batches to ensure that each unit meets Ted's criteria for quality.
The measured Thiel-Small parameters are given below. See SYSTEMS for chassis size and the first enclosure designs tested with the Eikona.
